Death of a Superhero

A Family's Story about Courage, Bravery and the Defining Moments of LOVE

Our sweet, lil' baby love lost his battle to AML Leukemia on March 8, 2010. We fought long, hard and very aggressively for 2.5 years, only to have his cancer come back for the fourth time to finally take his life. He was only 3 years old.

This entire blog is about Hunter's amazing journey. It's about his life and his love......his determination and his courage.......his absolutely, brilliant personality, and the affect he's had on people all over the world.

He's left an unimaginable footprint on this earth and has changed the lives of thousands of individuals. People who didn't realize how precious life was, now live it with extreme gratefulness. People who took every minute they get to spend with their children for granted, now savor every last second. And people who weren't quite sure what love is all about, now love deeper, love stronger and love with every ounce of their soul.

People all around the world have shared their love, their well wishes, their prayers and their inspiration, and we could have NEVER achieved as much as we did without them. We are humbled by their generosity & their true friendships & are forever grateful for every last person that has come into our lives through our experience with Hunter. He was our precious baby love who we loved and cherished with all our hearts and we are forever crushed and terribly, broken-hearted.

Dance in the clouds baby cakes. Mom & dad are watching proudly & you will remain so very close to our hearts for all of eternity.

"Every Monday Matters", Party with a Purpose

The Party with a Purpose was truly amazing Friday night. Started at Barnes & Noble at The Grove in Los Angeles and moved over to The Whisper Lounge a few stores down. Great atmosphere at nighttime. The turnout was huge and we want to thank Matt and Kelly for everything they've done. They've touched us deeply and we are incredibly thankful.

Matt & Shelly’s book “Every Monday Matters” was everywhere throughout the store and they also had a fantastic window display.

Let’s start with the book signing. TONS of people. At one point the line was almost to the elevator!! Great book. Pick one up or order one from their website.

Zen and I with both authors, Matt & Kelly & a sweet, precious little girl. For those that don't know the story, Matt met Hunter and decided to sponsor him and another little girl by the name of Brittany at their next Party with a Purpose. Brittany passed last year from Leukemia at age 15 - she was an absolutely beautiful little girl. She drew a postcard collection that is just stunning and I believe is available online. I'll find out more details. One of her cards is posted at the end of this blog.

Headed towards The Whisper Lounge around 8:30pm for yummy food and great wine.

The Eco Friendly Red Carpet was such a neat idea.

These are a few of the photographers that were covering the event. Apparently the NY Post was there as well as US Weekly. Very cool.

Zen and I striding down the eco friend. I am holding a bottle of Hope wine which was pretty tastey. They were the wine sponsor for the evening. A huge THANK YOU to Hope Wine. There were a ton of satisfied sippers! Drinking responsibly of course.

When you order from HOPE WINE, if you put in HUNTER for the special code, you'll get %15 off. Part of the proceeds go to Hunter and his future, (It might be a week or so before this is set up). They have a Cabernet, a Chardonnay and a Merlot. Check out the Hope Wine website. Each wine goes towards a specific charity. Fifty percent of the profits from Cabernet Sauvignon sales are donated to charities who support the fight against Autism. Fifty percent of the profits from Chardonnay sales will be donated to charities who support the fight against Breast Cancer. And fifty percent of the profits from Merlot sales will be donated to charities who support the fight against AIDS.

Completely packed once we got inside.

Me with two of my closest friends, Jennifer Gendron, Co-owner of Touch Massage Boutique, & Actress, Cher Ferreyra. I LOVE them!

Hunter's own line of shoes was there on display and sold in the silent auction for a bunch of cashish! The auction was a huge success. Thank you Aldabella Scarpa! Everyone looooooves the shoes and can't wait for them to hit the streets!

Of course one of the first items to go was the Paul Stanley autographed guitar. It was absolutely beautiful! Paul Stanley rocks.

...........and then of course, my friends and I had to try it out.

Me with Stephen Niedringhaus of Topo Ranch and his awesome wife Lizzy. Topo Ranch clothes are really sweet. The material is fantastic and I can't wait to wear my new shirt that was given to me! Thanks Stephen!

Actress and Cover Model, Molly Culver. She and her husband are the ones that got Hunter his cool quad that he is on ALL DAY LONG!! He's the fastest kid on the floor!

We also want to send a very special thank you to Wendy and Orcun of Oxigen Events. They helped organize the entire event and did the amazing flower arrangements.
